About the Qatar Government Excellence Award
The Qatar Government Excellence Award was established by Amiri Decision No. 63 of 2023 and is administered by Qatar’s Civil Service and Government Development Bureau. It aims to raise the quality of government performance and encourage government entities and employees to compete in applying the highest standards of quality, development, and excellence, in support of Qatar National Vision 2030.
Award Categories
The award comprises seven categories across four main awards and three specialized sub-awards. Participating ministries and government entities are grouped into four competitive groups, each competing for an “Uplift” award and an “Excellence” award, based on their performance against the Qatar Government Excellence Model.

No. AMC is an independent management consulting firm that helps government and semi-government entities prepare for the award; the award itself is granted by Qatar’s Civil Service and Government Development Bureau.
Is this service only for government entities, or semi-government too?
Both. AMC works with government ministries as well as semi-government entities preparing to compete for the award.
Do we need ISO or EFQM certification before applying for the award?
Not necessarily, though many of the practices AMC helps you build — through our ISO certification support and EFQM-aligned excellence programs — directly strengthen your readiness for the award’s criteria.
